Perhaps what we can do is ask for volunteers to move info over. Identify the threads we want moved and ask each person to grab one and start moving it. We can either just forget about trying to assign it back to the original poster, or those with the privilege can follow behind and change the ownership after it's moved. It doesn't have to be perfect, just cut and paste it all, it just has to get over there. We can clean it up later, adding the coding and whatnot. It can be like a house painting party! I think I finished moving the RS interviews thread over. Only took me a month! That would be great. Is anyone interested in being a volunteer for this? I think we need to probably broadcast this on every thread, referring everyone back to one here. We might want to create a list of threads to movie, then have people put their name next to it. We just need to have a deadline so that we can get off this board and start using the new one.

What we need to be doing, I think, rather than get bogged down in moving every post before we open the board properly (because that has proven to be unfeasible), is simply start every thread posted on the old board, in the new board. Just start them. Opening post, then close it again. Thereafter, the thread can be filled in at leisure while the board is active.
I've already set up the 'Films' board to operate that way. Every thread is there, but not all of them are complete. Currently I'm working on filling out the Bad Blood thread (because I didn't want to start a new one in this case), but that will be opened up soon, and people will be able to post under all the most recent topics, while I squirrel away filling out older threads.
Claudia's the final arbiter on this stuff, but I think it would be helpful for those that can (and are inclined), to just start opening and closing threads in the new board. If a thread is still active on the old board, move over its opening post, close it (so that it can be filled in later), and then open a 'Part II', or III, or IV, or whichever comes next in the sequence, that people can post in going forward. That way we're not having to rush to fill the first (second, third, fourth) thread so that it can be used.
Does that make sense...?

So, as Tony says, anyone can already open new threads in the other site so just open them but with the first post of the old one in here and then we will fill them out along the way. Thank you Tony for the suggestion.

Thank you Tony for the suggestion. Glad it's deemed workable. I would also suggest that anyone who does open a thread should post the title of that thread here, so the mods can follow behind and close them, to prevent anyone from posting in what are essentially old threads.

Not quite yet, but we're drifting over there by degrees.

Not quite yet, but we're drifting over there by degrees. How long can we keep this site? I'm assuming that they measure inactivity and shutdown sites that stop being used at some point.

Do I have to register for a new account in the new site? You're in there. You should be able to just sign in as normal.

Do I have to register for a new account in the new site? That's a Claudia question. Not something I'm well informed on.

This is great, Trollbuster. Many thanks.
I'm trying to decide what would serve best as an organising principle for these interview threads, in terms of making them easily "searchable", and tidier. MMmmm....
Maybe... we should just have dedicated threads for individual shows, print outlets, and websites...? So there would be a Tonight Show thread, and a Vanity Fair thread, and a DP/30 thread (which I notice there already is) etc. Then we'd have a podcast thread, and a miscellaneous thread, with any junket style stuff being kept in a thread dedicated to the movie being promoted (as is already the case).
This might be sensible at least going forward, even if we don't incorporate the older material. Though I think we'd do well to.
I've tested it with a few threads. Seems to work.
What do we think?

What do we think? should I add the other Graham Norton interviews to the thread I already have then, and make it 'Jen on Graham Norton'? and I guess WWHL with Andy Cohen would be the same?
